Questioning ads: history & tactics of the adbusting movement – Ban Fossil Ads webinar

We will be convening for our fourth Ban Fossil Ads webinar called ‘Questioning ads: history & tactics of the adbusting movement’. We will hear from artist and activist Michelle Tylicki about the rich and long history of the adbusting (also called subvertising, brandalism, anti-ad direct action) movement around the world. Why did activist take to the streets to fight commercial ads, back in the 60s and now? What creative tactics did they use? And what is the role of the adbusting movement today?

Join us 11th of March at 19:30-20:45 (CET). Zoom link will be shared after sign-up.

Please sign up here and share this invitation with your friends (e.g. via Instagram or Threads)!

Ban Fossil Ads conference

This webinar is a great way to get the creative energy flowing a few weeks before the Ban Fossil Ads conference in Brussels. The conference is full unfortunately, however you can still sign up for the waiting list.

Webinar series

After many European signatures were collected during the ECI, a successful Ban Fossil Ads conference in Amsterdam last March, and with the European elections coming up already this year, it is time to give the European momentum around fossil ad bans another boost. Reclame Fossielvrij (Fossil Free Advertising) and Badvertising Sweden are therefore hosting a series of webinars with the following aims:

  • Strengthening and broadening the European fossil ad ban network;
  • Sharing knowledge about local fossil ad bans;
  • Strategizing on European level campaigns and elections.

Previously, we organized a webinar on the legal aspects of banning fossil ads, how to mobilize health care workers and different local campaigns throughout Europe to ban fossil ads. Can’t make it this time but want to hear about the next one? Sign up here and get updates from the Ban Fossil Ads movement!
